A safe harbour to heal and grow
I’m glad you’re here.
Are you exhausted from living every day under a cloud of self-criticism and anxiety? Does life feel overwhelming, like you're stuck on a treadmill that just keeps getting faster? Maybe you feel like the world has delivered a one-two punch lately, and you can’t seem to find the time or the space to recover - if you even knew what recovery looked like.
At Harbour Path Counselling, we offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental place to learn to be kinder to yourself and manage what may feel unmanageable. In a safe and welcoming environment, we’ll explore the roots of your concerns, develop new coping skills, and help you feel more grounded and regulated when facing life’s challenges. Together, we will walk the path towards living an imperfect, fulfilling life.
About Me
Katherine Salsman, MACP, RCT-C
Hello! I’m Katherine (she/her), and I’m a Registered Counselling Therapist - Candidate practicing in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With every client, I aim to create a warm and supportive environment based on trust and connection. From the foundation of this strong relationship, we work together to explore your experiences, uncover your strengths, and nurture growth.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and am an accredited practitioner in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Level 2). I find it deeply rewarding to help clients learn to manage anxiety, reduce self-criticism and shame, and manage stress from work, school, or parenting. My approach integrates a variety of techniques and is tailored to your needs. I aim to offer an inclusive and affirming space for counselling and welcome individuals of all races, genders, faiths, abilities, and sexual orientations.
I transitioned to this career after more than a decade in the legal field, which gives me a deep insight into the challenges of a high-stress profession and the demands of being a working parent. Outside of my time at Harbour Path, I love spending time reading, knitting, cuddling my cat, and indulging in nerdy TV shows and movies.
